Access to the road is off Exford Rd west of the Melton Reservoir north along Murphy’s Rd and Wollombi Rd which turns into weir Rd, it is a dead end road and has no vehicular access to the weir. At the site which has an arm of the weir in the dip in the road there is a rough walking track that leads along the south bank of the arm towards the main weir. The surrounding paddocks are lightly treed.
