On the Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd at the Lake Rowns Locality there is an s bend in the road where Swamp Rd heads south. At the swamp, the track forks, the site is about 800m down the east fork on the edge of the swamp and near a small lake in the adjacent farmland. The edge of the swamp is large trees in grassy woodland changing to more dense vegetation deeper into the swamp. The track in is solid even when wet.
