The site is about a 1km walk from Pink Lakes Rd on the southern shore of Lake Kenyon, the lake is often dry, but sometimes does carry water. The surrounding area is quite open with spinifex and some woodland.
Camp rating 8 for Lake Crosbie camp 1km to the west of the site off Pink Lakes Rd, there are facilities here but also fees
