After the rough 53km drive from the Great Northern Hwy into the Bungles NP HQ and you’ve paid your day fees it’s another 27km to Piccaninny on the SE side of the range along another rough road. There is a short loop walk around the beehive formations and a longer walk into Cathedral Gorge both are well worth the effort. The amphitheatre at the end of Cathedral Gorge is amazing. There is no access during the wet season. The presence of water in the sheltered Cathedral gorge attracts a few birds into the gorge.

There’s no camping here, there are campgrounds in the park all with fees and all crowded at peak times
