This is the starting point for the walk down to the falls both Mertons and Mitchell River. All are worth the walk which you should allow a half a day for. The upper pool of Mitchell River Falls is a lovely if open place for a swim. There are several small hot spots for the birds, the best being a short stretch where the track runs next to the Merton Ck.
Camp rating 7 there are NP fees payable here, but if you want to walk to the gorge, it’s necessary to stay here.
