Off the Burke Developmental Rd on the old Strathleven Rd, there is now a new access road that starts about 5km west of the Gamboola Homestead track and heads due north to the site. The river has a permanent flow, the back eddies and pools attract waterbirds and the thick scrub has plenty of bushbirds.
Camp rating 6 there is no easy spot to camp here, the best being on the SW bank, this is not an established campsite
