The site is just off the Calder hwy about 7km north of Sea Lake township where Baileys Rd runs past the viewing platform down to the lake’s edge, which is where the site is centred. It is an exposed area with some good quality but patchy ground cover of mainly Salt Bush, there are only one or two trees on the road side. The lake bed sometimes has a sheen of very shallow water on it. There are now vehicular restrictions to stop people driving off track, as the site has become popular with tourists.
camp rating 3, no facilities. No camping is allowed on the lake, but is possible on the bend in the main road.
