To the SW of Mackay along the Peak Downs Hwy take the North Eaton Rd through North Eton and further west along the Kinchant Dam Rd about 5km west of North Eton to the boat ramp. The edge of the lake often has some vegetation on it, as does the cove to the east, there is sparse woodland up the hill. There are toilets at the car park. At peak times this is a very busy place.
No free camping is allowed here there is a caravan park nearby called Kinchant Waters
