About 7km east of the Kings Canyon Campground on Lutitja Drive, the Kings Canyon Access Rd heads north, the carpark is about 5km along at the end of the road. There are 2 walks to do here, the easy one follows a creek into the canyon, but because of vandalism you don’t get very far, but is still a pleasant walk. The longer harder walk takes you on a loop up a steep grade onto the rim of the canyon and around the back of it with a dip into the stream that runs through it, back up the other side with more views and finally back down to the car park. This is Australia’s most spectacular desert scenery, and if you are fit enough, well worth the effort, the initial climb is the hardest bit, but one can be rewarded with Dusky Grasswrens on the side of the track. The area is overrun with tourists these days.
No camping is allowed here
