The site is about 2km east of Fitzroy Crossing at the bridge, the west bank is the best habitat with some rank grasses near the bridge hosting a good sized flock of Star Finch sometimes. There is access to the river which always has water in it with waterbirds using the pools.
No camping allowed here, the Fitzroy River Lodge which can be incorporated into the site has a campground, but it’s expensive and we don’t recommend staying in the town.
