About 52km west of Cloncurry on the Barkly Hwy, a short way down the entrance track is an unlocked gate, the reserve part is away from where most people camp by the lake, a second gate leads over a hill to the base of the dam where the site is. There is a steep backdrop of rock to the site and plenty of riparian woodland.

Camp rating 10 there is a toilet here with nice flat areas beside the pool.
