About 7km north of Cape tribulation, the site is the only stop by the beach on this road north of the cape, with the rainforest coming all the way down to Cowie beach. it’s rather spectacular, at low tide the waders can be found, I’ve been disappointed with the bush birding here though. It’s still worth a wander along the short beach around the mangroves just for the experience.
