About 7km west of Newstead on the Pyrenees Hwy the Joyces Creek-Baringhup Rd heads north on the west bank of the reservoir and under a rail bridge. About 5km along the road come s back to the reservoir where a small track leads to a place to park the car. There is no vehicular access to the reservoir here. The high water mark has a bit of habitat around the edge of the lake in cleared farmland.
Not sure of the legality of camping here but it’s quite exposed with no established camp 4 if if it’s allowed.
