The weir is signposted from the Mareeba Rd to the east of the town. At the end of Bruce Weir Rdyou will see a forlorn sign indicating that one shouldn’t go past it, but one can see that it being completely ignored. So one can walk up to the edge of the weir where there’s a more imperative fence to stop one going further, but the view across the weir is good enough to see what’s on it, there’s a row of large trees for the bush birds along with the trees in the creek below the weir.
No camping is allowed here, though there’s evidence that people do
