Best access is from Reserve Rd which runs off Inlet Cres. The site takes in the mouth of the Painkalac Creek, the headland as well as the beach which is a good site for Hooded Plovers, and the lighthouse. There are toilets at the site. The coastal parts of the site are included in the Queenscliffe to Lorne Coastal Reserve a thin line of habitat between the beach and the houses.

No camping is allowed here.
