On the Barkly Hwy at the Yelvertoft station road about 103km west of Mt Isa, the creek here is usually dry and the fenced off dam that you can walk around and see into is also usually dry, the creek line is well vegetated, attracting a good variety of birds.

No camping is advised here as it’s the entrance to a property, though there is room by the roadside here.
