Just south of Hamilton Creek and Moolawatana Homestead on the Mount Hopeless Rd is Talc Mine Rd, it leads up to a gate and around the hills to the springs about 7km along very slow rough track that should only be attempted by 4wd. The drive in though is worth it, As you come down the steep embankment onto the creek bed, stop and walk up to the crack in the hills, there is a permanent if somewhat scungy waterhole, which attracts all the wildlife. The trees here are huge but the surrounding habitat isn’t all that diverse which limits the diversity of birdlife.
Camp rating 9 there is no established campsite here, but there’s plenty of pleasant spots to camp 4wd is necessary.
