On Eight Mile Creek Rd about 16km east of Port McDonnell, the creek here is actually Ewens Ck. There is a thin strip of good coastal scrub south of the road. A track that one can drive down, but I walk, leads to Point Danger 1km to the east, which is an excellent spot for roosting sea birds and waders.
Camp rating 8 there are several spots on the west side of the channel and the same on the east, there are no facilities and it’s not far from the busy road, best kept away from at peak times.
